Licenced Electrician Certification (YDE)

The Licensed Electrician Certificate (YDE) is a necessary certificate which ensures that the electrical installation of a commercial property is safe and fit for use according to HEDNO [Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator] requirements.

Enerwave, in collaboration with the Douleftaras services platform, undertakes the entire YDE issuance process through specialized electricians who conduct the necessary inspections and submit the certification to the relevant authorities. Our goal is to streamline the process of receiving the Licensed Electrician Certificate for your commercial premises so you don’t have to deal with procedural matters.

Complimentary YDE valued up to €200 for businesses

With every new electricity connection that businesses make in commercial spaces up to 200 m2, Enerwave is offering a free* Licensed Electrician Certificate valued up to €200, provided this is required by the relevant authorities.

*Concerns the Attica and Thessaloniki regions and the complimentary certificate does not apply to existing customers.

Significant information about the YDE:

  • In case of initial electrification or reconnection, the electrician issues a temporary, non-finalized Licensed Electrician Certificate (YDE), as mandated by law. After a property is electrified, the customer has 45 days to submit a request for the issuance of final YDE. This cost is covered by Enerwave.
  • If deficiencies or malfunctions are found during an electrical installation inspection, the YDE will not be issued. The electrician updates the customer on the required remedial actions. The responsibility and related costs shall be borne exclusively by the customer.

When is an YDE required?

The YDE is mandatory in the following cases:

  • Modification of the electrical installation or supply (e.g., change of name, meter transfer).
  • New installation or application for permanent connection to the grid (e.g., new construction).
  • Periodic inspection of electrical installations.
  • Renovation of a property.
  • Initial electrification of the property.
  • Inspection every 2 to 5 years depending on the commercial space.
  • After natural disasters, serious accidents or complaints and upon change of use.
