The PowerGreen Net Billing facility offers everyone the ability to save on energy costs and reduce CO2 emissions. The electricity generated by the PV system and the power consumed by the facility are offset in real time. Any excess power is injected into the grid and is compensated for a 20-year period, based on the wholesale market price at the time of injection. In short, thanks to Net Billing, you can benefit from reduced electricity bills by selling excess energy and help protect the environment at the same time. All that is needed is to install a photovoltaic solar panel system on a flat or pitched roof or on the grounds of a property.
 

Free insurance for the PV installation

How the PV system works

1. The photovoltaic panels convert solar energy into electricity.
2. The installed inverter converts the direct current (DC) produced into alternating current (AC).
3. AC is the type of current used to serve the energy needs of households, businesses, and others.
4. A bi-directional meter measures the energy taken up from the grid and the generated energy that is injected into the grid, in real time. The net amount derived by offsetting generated against absorbed power is calculated every 15 minutes, and the injected power is sold at the day-ahead market (DAM) clearing price.
5. The battery stores the energy generated that is not used and makes it available to cover the energy needs of a household, business or other facility during the hours that it would have to take up energy from the grid.

 

How do you save on energy costs? 

Given Greece's high sun-hour rating, each kW of PV capacity could generate up to 1,600 kWh per year. Applying Net Billing to photovoltaic systems is a very efficient way to reduce energy costs and therefore your monthly electricity bill.

Both the energy generated by the PV system and the power consumed by the facility are recorded by meters in real time. The generated power is used to meet the needs of the facility and any surplus is injected into the grid for sale. The net amount derived by offsetting generated against absorbed power is calculated every 15 minutes, and the injected power is sold at the day-ahead market (DAM) clearing price. The energy “prosumer” (who produces and consumes the power) benefits both through the reduced cost of electricity and from the sale of injected energy. By combining the photovoltaic system with an energy storage system, self-consumption can increase, which results in even greater savings on energy costs.
