Elpedison has completed the installation and connection to the grid of a photovoltaic (PV) system, under the framework of Net Metering, with a total capacity of 1 MWp, for the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki Hotel, of the Regency Entertainment Group. The project contributes significantly to the Regency Group's strategy to further reduce its environmental footprint through the use of alternative energy sources.
The PV system, which was completed and delivered as a turnkey solution, includes the design and construction of 12 state-of-the-art car-ports around the hotel, where a total of 1,738 PV panels and 10 100 kW inverters were installed. The project was implemented in accordance with international standards, while during the construction, which lasted 2 months, strict Health & Safety measures were followed, reflecting the importance both companies attach to this sector.
The implementation of this project, in addition to the significant energy and economic benefits, will lead to a reduction of the hotel's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 528t CO2 eq., i.e, an improvement of the hotel's environmental footprint by 25%.
